Dear Brady,
At one point I belonged to the Rosacia support group. Somewhere along the line between moving and changing internet servers...I lost the connection to the group.
I have some rather interesting points to make about my rosacia history and how it has changed lately.
I first noticed a change in my skin around the age of 25-27...it was very subtle...I don't quite remember the exact time frame. I was busy with kids and work, stress, which of course are all supposed to be triggers of rosacia.
From that point on until now...(I'm now 45) I have tried every product under the sun. I've had facials, I've tried creams, lotions and potions. I've been to various doctors. My family doctor, skin doctors...I've tried anitibiotics...vitamins....medicated soap...creams...you name it. Last year I went to a doctor who prescribed laser treatments....I had five of those...and it worked a "bit"...but I was still red, rosy and bumpy (i've attached a picture). He then used another treatment which was the ILP treatments....I had a very bad time with that (another picture). All these things Brady...thousands and thousands of dollars....diets, vitamins, laser, medicine, etc.... and now I've finally figured it out.
When I had my first child I was 23 years old. Two years later I had my second son. At 25 years old, I was overweight and overwhelmed. ...I was losing hair from the pregnancy and had gained weight. I then began to try and focus on my health and getting back into shape. Since that time period I've taken vitamins periodically to "improve" my health. Two I couldn't take were vitamin c (canker sores and yeast infections) and any sort of B vitamin (boils, pimple out breaks) I learned really quick that my body did not tolerate these two vitamins-so I didn't continue on with them. The two I DID continue with for the last 22 year were calcium magnisium and vitamin e. I've never NOT taken them....until this summer when I was on a month long vacation and did not remember to bring them. Brady....my skin is AMAZING...it's been two and one half months now....the bumps are gones and the redness has decreased, and the thing is, people notice-so it's not just me. When I think of the reactions I had to the other two vitamins-I just quit taking them, but I never related that either calcium or vitamin e might be linked-I've removed every food item from my food consumption at some point-sugar, carbs, wheat, etc. And none of it had any affect on my skin.
This just makes so much sense to me-think of how many adults, go through kids and stress....they have to be healthy...and the magazines and books just push vitamins....you can't pick up a single one without it telling you how much healthier you will be with any one of a dozen different kinds. I've sent you another picture of me three weeks ago...(birthday one) you can see-no redness...amazing. I definetly think people should take notice and perhaps try to NOT take any vitamins. It's just my theory. I hope it might work for others. Alanna
P.S.
Sure Brady-I know I've suffered with the redness and bumps on my face. Throughout the years I think I've done more damage then good with all the "miracle cures". As well..constant scrubbing, cleaning and purifying didn't help either.
What I do need to mention is that it's almost been three months since I quit taking the calcium and vitamin e...I'd say I didn't see the difference until about 1 and 1/2 months later....I guess I had a toxic buildup in my system. The picture I sent you of my redness didn't even do it justice-I'll send you another-but even that doesn't do it really.
Please have any emails sent back to me through my hotmail address-just for privacy reasons. Thanks for all the work you do for everyone who has this problem.
